Judging The Future of Fashion

On May 8th FIT will be hosting their annual fashion show presented this year by Calvin Klein and the Calvin Klein Foundation. Working with industry critics graduating Fashion Design BFA students display their final and most impressive designs to their families, fashion industry professionals and the media.

The difficult task of choosing which designs to showcased is a challenging one to say the least. Every FIT student has an eye for style, and pushes the boundaries of construction while still maintaining impeccable execution. Each one of these one-of-a-kind-designs shows innovation and creativity but only the most outstanding garments are selected to walk down the runway each year.

FIT brings in fashion professionals of the highest stature to make the final selection decisions. This year's judges include Ken Downing, senior vice president and fashion director of Neiman Marcus; Kemal Harris, a freelance stylist; Nicole Phelps, director of Vogue Runway; Diana Tsui, senior market editor at New York Magazine’s The Cut; and Lilliana Vazquez, a contributor to NBC’s Today.

We look forward to next Monday night.
